Terms of Service

1. The Service

Founders of Equity provides a research index of founder and billionaire paths, curated deep profiles, and Pattern Engine — an AI assistant that answers questions against that dataset (and optional web context). Features depend on whether you browse as a guest, sign in for free, or subscribe to a paid plan (Starter or Growing).

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and provide a valid email you control. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, share credentials to evade limits, or attempt unauthorized access.

3. Plans, limits, and billing

Free and guest tiers include limited deep-profile access and (for free accounts) limited Pattern Engine capacity. Paid plans unlock more capacity and features as described on the Pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring monthly basis unless canceled via the billing portal. Access continues through the current paid period after cancellation.

Prices may change with notice on the Pricing page. Taxes may apply. Failed payments may pause paid features until resolved.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not scrape, harvest, or redistribute the database in bulk without written permission.
• Do not attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, or paywalls.
• Do not probe, overload, reverse engineer, or attack the Service or its infrastructure.
• Do not use Pattern Engine to generate unlawful, harassing, fraudulent, or deceptive content.
• Do not upload secrets, passwords, or unrelated personal data of third parties into prompts.
• Do not resell API access or automated extraction of curated deep profiles.

We may throttle, block, or remove access when we detect abuse.

5. Content, data, and AI

Rankings, net worth figures, and deep profiles are estimates and curated research from public and proprietary sources. They can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Pattern Engine uses AI and can hallucinate or mis-cite. Outputs are for education and research only — not investment, tax, legal, or medical advice. See the Legal notice.

You retain rights to your prompts. We may process prompts to deliver Pattern Engine and to enforce limits and security. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate the Service.

6. Intellectual property

The site design, software, curated profiles, Pattern Engine formatting, and branding are owned by Founders of Equity or its licensors. Short quotations with attribution for personal, non-commercial research are allowed. Commercial redistribution of the database or curated timelines requires written permission.

Forbes and other third-party marks belong to their owners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Forbes or listed individuals unless we say so explicitly.

7. Confidentiality and security

We apply technical and organizational measures described in the Privacy Policy (access tiers, encryption in transit, rate limits, security headers). You must not attempt to access another user's threads, billing data, or gated deep profiles. Reporting security issues to foundersofequity@gmail.com is appreciated; exploiting them is not allowed.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the Service or reliance on its content. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim (or EUR 50 if you paid nothing), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion under the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to protect the Service and other users.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after the updated date means you accept the new Terms. Material changes may also be communicated by email or a notice on the site.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply. Disputes shall be settled by Swedish courts unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
